Potluck draws on the fiber-arts traditions passed down by the women in my family—crochet, quilting, and sewing—skills I learned from my grandmothers and adapted in my own way. I think of a potluck as an apt metaphor for family: everyone arrives with their own offerings, histories, and flavors. The combinations may be uneven or unexpected, but together they form something sustaining and shared.
