Inspired by my daily walks and the small things I find and carry, these mixed-media sewn drawings are a way of processing my surroundings—places, sights, and thoughts gathered along the way. This one emerged from a moody fall morning, when the pinks and browns were debuting and the greens were beginning to recede. The background was built from many layers of oil and cold wax, scraped back and rebuilt again, holding traces of what came before. This piece can be displayed beautifully as a diptych with Pathfinding #1 or stand confidently on its own.
