I grew up swimming and, from a very young age, challenged myself to enter the deep end—keeping my head above water even when my feet could not touch the bottom. There is much to be learned from moving into what scares us. This piece honors the building blocks formed through those experiences, as well as the waters that carry us as we learn to move through them.
