Things We Carry was created collaboratively for the entrance of a hospital. Hospital workers contributed 144 small notes reflecting what they carry in their work that others may not see. I bundled and stitched each note into the painted grid, allowing every contribution to hold its own while becoming part of something larger. The piece honors the unseen experiences people carry that still need care. My hope is that it offers a moment of pause and respite to those who encounter it.
